About The Trade Show

Fimec (International Fair for Leather, Chemical Products, Components, Machines, and Equipment for Footwear and Tanneries) meets on March 20th - 23th, with 600 exhibitors, representing over 1,200 brands. Organized by Fenac and the Novo Hamburgo City Hall, and supported by the main leather-footwear organizations in Brazil, Fimec offers the right environment during a four day period to exchange information and knowledge about new technologies and, most importantly, to close new business and to open new negotiations that will become new business in the next few months after the trade show.

Its rank as the second largest event in the industry is consolidated by the sales growth of the domestic market as well as the constant search for opportunities in new countries, as well as factors such as quality and design, placing Brazil in the center of attention once again. The 36th edition of Fimec should receive approximately 50 thousand visitors from all the continents, traversing the 40 thousand square meters of available space. Besides Brazilians, there will be exhibitors from Germany, Argentina, China, Korea, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Finland, France, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, and Uruguay. Brazil will have exhibitors representing the states of Bahia, Distrito Federal, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.

The segments on exhibit at the trade show are related to the leather finishing, adhesives, general services, footwear and related leather product components, tanneries, packaging, equipment, machines, chemical products, synthetics, shoe soles and fabrics. Fimec is the result of an institutional partnership with several organizations and institutions connected to the industry, such as ABECA (Brazilian Association of Footwear Designers); ABQTIC (Brazilian Association of Chemists and Technicians of the Leather Industry); ABRAMEQ (Brazilian Association Machine and Equipment Manufacturers for the Leather and Footwear Industry); ACI-NH/CB/EV (Novo Hamburgo Commercial, Industrial, and Services Association); AIC Sul (Tanning Industry Association of Rio Grande do Sul); ASSINTECAL (Brazilian Association of Leather, Footwear, and Artifact Components Companies); CICB (Center of Tanning Industries of Brazil); IBTeC (Brazilian Institute of Leather, Footwear, and Leather Products Technology); and FEEVALE University
