Fimec 2025 brings together the footwear sector from March 18th to 20th
One of the most important events in the footwear cluster will present trends to professionals from all over the world at Fenac, in Novo Hamburgo/RS, Brazil
Recognized as the largest leather-footwear trade fair in Latin America, the 48th Fimec (International Fair of Leather, Chemicals, Components, Machinery and Equipment for Footwear and Tanneries) is scheduled for March 18th to 20th, from 1PM to 8PM, in the Fenac pavilions, in Novo Hamburgo/RS, Brazil. In the next edition, the fair will have the motte "Where sustainability, business and relationships meet", presenting a leather-footwear industry that is increasingly sustainable and responsive to the market behavior.
With the idea of promoting business and networking, Fimec is the only trade fair in the world that brings together the entire operation of the leather-footwear sector in one place, presenting solutions from production to logistics. For three days, the trade fair will bring together companies and professionals from the leather-footwear cluster in an environment that presents solutions in hides and skins, chemical products, components, machines, technology.
Expected to bring together 20,000 visitors, around 400 exhibitors and more than 10,000m² of exhibition area, the 2025 edition will provide professionals with connections and experiences, as well as presenting trends from the sector. "We are a traditional international business platform, but we are also an authority when it comes to the leather-footwear cluster. That's why, at each edition, we try to bring topics to the agenda that will renew visitors' knowledge and promote necessary debates, bringing the market closer to the sector's trends," says Márcio Jung, Fenac's CEO.
The trade fair will be a meeting point for the international market
Following the trend of recent years, Fimec will bring together professionals from different parts of the world over three days. "We expect to receive visitors from more than 30 countries and 20 Brazilian states. In 2023, for example, we brought together professionals from countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador," says Jung. "We're one of the largest trade fairs in the world and certainly the most important trade fair in the sector in Latin America, so this participation is natural," he adds.
Registration for Fimec 2025 is free and it will soon be available on the official website: www.fimec.com.br. The trade fair is professional and children under 14 are not allowed.
CICB Sustainability Forum confirmed at Fimec
After two successful editions and the approval of its stakeholders, the partnership between the CICB Sustainability Forum and Fimec is renewed for 2025. The Forum, which is a key event in the sector for learning about the main issues in the leather chain, will once again take place during Fimec and next to the physical space at the trade fair. The CICB event will take place on the second day of the trade fair, on the 19th, in the afternoon.
For José Fernando Bello, executive president of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (Centro das Indústrias de Curtumes do Brasil - CICB), which organizes the forum, both the Forum and Fimec seek to unite industry professionals by sharing innovation, knowledge and important contacts. "So holding the Forum during Fimec becomes natural. We have created a synergy with this partnership that connects the experience, values and closeness of the forum with the leather industry and Fimec, which is a world-renowned venue for bringing together major brands, businesses and professionals from the chain in which we operate," said the executive.
Fenac's CEO emphasized the institutional success of the partnership, which provides a precise meeting of suppliers, customers and the sustainability agenda in the same place. "We have the opportunity to discuss relevant issues in the sector with the people who make the industry happen. Holding the Forum at Fimec shows the strength of the leather sector, boosts its participation and delivers better results for all audiences," says Jung.
Concept Factory will present the most complete edition in the project's history
One of Fimec's great differentials is the Concept Factory, a traditional attraction that demonstrates the production of footwear and handbags inside the fair's pavilions, allowing visitors to see processes, machines and technologies in real time. Held by the Brazilian Institute of Leather, Footwear and Artifact Technology (Instituto Brasileiro de Tecnologia do Couro, Calçado e Artefatos - IBTeC), in partnership with Fenac and Coelho Assessoria Empresarial, the 15th Concept Factory will present the most complete edition in the project's history.
This year, there will be five production lines - one more than in the last edition - and for the first time children's shoes will be produced, as well as a model of women's shoes, handbags and safety shoes. This year's partners will be: Calçados Novopé, from Novo Hamburgo/RS, which will be producing the project's first children's shoes; Calçados Piccadilly, from Igrejinha/RS, which will will produce a model of scarpin; Marluvas Equipamentos de Segurança, from Dores de Campos/MG, one of the most important manufacturers of safety footwear in Brazil; and Arezzo & Co., from Campo Bom/RS, one of the largest shoe and handbag manufacturers in the country, which will be taking part in the project for the third time with the production of a women's handbag. In addition, the factory will have the traditional participation of Senai Footwear, with a production conveyor belt on which students from the professional training course for the footwear industry will be producing two models of boots, created by the students with the guidance of their teachers.
