Fimec 2026 will take place from March 3rd to 5th

With the motto "Activate a new look", the 49th Fimec (International Fair of Leather, Chemicals, Components, Machinery and Equipment for Footwear and Tanneries) will be the meeting point for the leather-footwear sector on March 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2026. Seeking to present the main trends for the production chain, the fair will bring together around 400 exhibitors in the Fenac pavilions in Novo Hamburgo/RS, Brazil.
With the aim of boosting business and promoting networking, Fimec is the only trade fair in the world that brings together the entire production chain of the leather-footwear sector in a single space, offering solutions from production to logistics. Over three days, the event will bring together companies and professionals from the sector, creating an environment conducive to presenting solutions in hides and skins, chemical products, components, machinery and technological innovations.
In the next edition, the expectation is to gather 20,000 visitors and offer more than 10,000 m² of exhibition space, providing connections and experiences for professionals from all over the world. "We plan to bring together around 40 countries and 20 Brazilian states. During the three days of Fimec, Novo Hamburgo will be the footwear capital of the world. We are the largest trade fair in the sector in Latin America and one of the main ones in the world," recalls Fenac's CEO, Márcio Jung.
He also highlights the relevance of the event for the sector. "Fimec is the industry's biggest and most important meeting point, a platform where innovations meet business opportunities. In 2026, we will present a fair with even more emphasis on sustainability and technological innovation," he said, noting that the leather-footwear industry has shown great resilience, adapting and evolving over the last few years. "Fimec is the perfect stage to consolidate this movement, strengthen networking and open doors to new business possibilities," adds Jung.

The CICB Sustainability Forum is confirmed in the program
The collaboration that has been strengthening the leather chain and promoting essential discussions about the future of the sector is officially renewed: the CICB Sustainability Forum will once again be held during Fimec. The CICB Forum is scheduled for the second day of the fair, March 4th, in the afternoon.
The confirmation reinforces the success of the partnership between the Brazilian Tanning Industry Center (Centro das Indústrias de Curtumes do Brasil - CICB, which organizes the Forum) and Fenac (which organizes Fimec), sharing common purposes: stimulating innovation, promoting business and bringing together the industry's leading names around current and strategic issues.
It will be the fourth consecutive edition of the CICB event within Fimec. The first two, with a central theme on bovine traceability, and the most recent, on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), brought together an extremely qualified audience from the industry all over Brazil in Novo Hamburgo. "The Forum is an essential space for exchange and updating for the sector, and Fimec is the ideal stage for this conversation to take off. With each edition, we reinforce the synergy between the initiatives and how this closeness adds value for companies, professionals and the image of Brazilian leather," said José Fernando Bello, executive president of CICB.
Jung also celebrated the continuity of the partnership, highlighting the strategic alignment between the entities: "We are renewing the partnership between Fimec and the CICB Forum for the 2026 edition, understanding that this was one of the most important joint achievements in recent years by Fenac," he said. The CEO also stressed the importance of the Forum. "It's an extremely beneficial event for more visitors to come to Fimec and, above all, for the entire leather sector to become even more integrated and to find within the fair the ideal place for relevant debates, providing opportunities for growth as a market and strengthening cooperation in the industry," said the CEO.
